The Coffee Club, Claremont Quarter0 Comments
Growing up in the 1990’s and when Perth was not so groovy, cafe franchises were a regular place to hang out and especially at the shopping mall. Memories are returning of the cafe inside Myers in Fremantle and Kmart at Kardinya Park. The Coffee Club is an Australian franchise of cafe restaurants, Australia’s largest actually. The first store opened in Brisbane in 1989, a successful expansion has resulted in over 280 cafes in Australia, New Zealand, China and Thailand.
The Coffee Club at Claremont Quarter is located on the 2nd floor in the main walkway opposite the JB Hi Fi store.
The idea behind the Coffee Club was to create a relaxed and easy meeting place, this morning it became just that. The destination to get some work done! We started with a pair of traditional long macchiatos. I loved that the traditional long macchiato was served with a side of milk. The coffee was rather strong and beautifully aromatic. I was impressed! We could not help but return to the counter to order a cappuccino and caramel slice. We were asked if we wanted ice cream or cream with the caramel slice. As the slice is kept in a refrigerated cabinet we left it for a while so that the caramel became nice and goey and the chocolate soft to bite into. It was a delicious slice.
In terms of breakfast the menu offers omelettes, fruit salad, eggs benedict, pancake stack and french toast. The breakfast is available all day long.
I have become a frequent takeaway customer of the Coffee Club at Claremont Quarter and the coffee is good. The weekends do get hectic and this entails a longer than usual waiting time but during the week the scene is much different especially before 10:00 am. Bring a book or the laptop, enjoy the peace. The shopping centre offers free wireless internet.
