The Grove Vineyard in the winery and surfing town of Margaret River is a stop that will please just about everyone in the group.
Known as The Grove Experience there is a brewery, distillery, liqueur factory, winery and cafe as well as lovely green surroundings and a lake with a few sneaky surprises. Oh and there is also accommodation within the grounds. The private Jacuzzi in Chalet Cabernet sounded very appealing.
We stopped by to have a look at the showroom and grab some coffee from the cafe. For a small fee you can partake in a liqueur tasting session but a few too many glasses of wine the previous night prevented me from starting the morning with liqueur. The butterscotch liqueur definitely sounded a treat though.
Last year, The Grove Experience produced their first Gin release. American style spirited, the rather deadly Absinthe and flavoured vodka are other lines of products available to purchase.
The Affogato deserves a special mention, there were a lot of ‘wows’ said at the table when it was bought out to us.
Being a gullible person I believed the sign ‘ Beware Crocodiles’ and screamed along with my friend when we saw this head poking out of the lake, yes silly us! This will certainly create a few laughs on arrival.
Looking at the menu the cafe does serve Champagne Breakfast for $20.00 inclusive of scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, créme fraiche and a glass of The Grove Vineyard methode champenoise sparkling.
