Sunday Breakfast at Asado; Chai rolled oat porridge0 Comments
It’s never really ideal to wake up on a Sunday with commitments planned all day, and following a late Saturday evening prior, we were surely dragging our feet. So, in this situation we treated ourselves to a brief breakfast and coffee from Asado in Claremont, across the road from the Claremont Quarter shopping centre.
This South American inspired small bar and cafe is open on a Sunday, and breakfast is served until 4pm. I love the modern up cycled decor, Asado is a very cool bar and a nice addition to the Claremont area. I would love to return to try the dinner menu sometime. Following placement of our order at the counter we found come high seats out the front and in the sun.
The prana chai rolled oat and chia porridge was definitely a different taste with the chai flavour. I enjoyed the berry compote on top, mixing it into the rather large serving of porridge. Honey was served on the side, and of course was drizzled all over. Enough to kick start the day ahead! I am a big fan of coconut and would have preferred more of this flavour but that’s just me. A little obsessive with the things I enjoy to eat.
Derek went with the chilli eggs on toast (sourdough bread), there was plenty of greens like rocket and avocado. The feta added a satisfying saltiness and the eggs when sliced were gooey inside. The chilli came in the form of some peppers and cut up chilli. It was all delicious.
The cups used to serve the long black coffees were the perfect size. The coffee we thought was a little acidic and came out with a zebra sort of pattern.
