Cheeky Sparrow is one of my all time favourite small bars in the city, the atmosphere is generally unpretentious and relaxing. Recently, I had an early morning commitment in the city and thought I would take the opportunity to float by Cheeky Sparrow, hoping it would be a good morning cafe as it is a small bar in the evenings.
Opening at 6.30 am, I think I was there just after 7, early I know, but on the other hand it can be a perfect time to enjoy a quiet coffee (and wake up) before the hecticness of the day comes rumbling in. Cheeky Sparrow has a charming mood to it, low lighting and the timeless classic decor. You’ll find most of the old building features have been restored inside, and, I love the booth seats by the big windows. It’s a comfortable cafe for a solo diner and wheel chair friendly with a ramp lift.
The long black was hot and strong, I really enjoyed it so much so that I’ve added it to my top long blacks in Perth list and visited two more times to be sure it was the real deal. There are a couple of reasons I will be back, the breakfast menu and on Wednesday is half price pizza night, yee haw!
