Located on Napoleon Street and in the heart of Cottesloe’s shopping area is Nature’s Harvest, a combined café and health product store.
Nature’s Harvest offer fair trade coffee, a good variety of raw desserts, salads, warm bean bowels and juices. Most items are gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, raw, paleo, oil free (first time I have seen this one on a menu) and nut free. I am a little intrigued with the menu, there are some interesting items like Turmeric latte aurvedic style, almond oat pancakes and casava chips. I’m always up for trying something new in the way of food and order a sweet potato and beetroot brownie. It was moist and rich in chocolate flavour, really delicious to eat. Aside from the denseness of the brownie, you would never guess the presence of vegetables and it’s a sneaky way to incorporate more into your day.
The coffee was notably strong and smooth, the 3 shot long black in the regular size is good value. It’s a mug and holds a lot of liquid, however with 3 shots there is no dilution of the coffee taste. The last photo shows the small cup size.
While the café offers limited seating and on a Saturday morning it’s incredibly busy, if you don’t mind the wait, it’s worth a stop. It’s definitely a popular little place and I’m keen to return to try the breakfast.
Wander further inside the café and there are shelves stocked with health wise products of food, cosmetics, toiletries, supplements and plant based protein powders. You’ll find local and small batch products like hand rolled coffee soap from Fremantle or lavender room spray from Balingup. They also stock Australian Kelp, I’ve been searching high and low for this and happy to find an Australian made brand. There is a tiny book section and I highly recommend the reference charts. The food additives one is really useful, as is the raw food guide.
