Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie Leederville

When we returned from spending a few weeks in Europe the first thing we did after dropping our bags in the hallway was to find some lunch! We jumped in the car and headed towards West Leederville. Chez Jean-Claude is a Swiss Patisserie and as we always frequent the store in Subiaco we decided to try the West Leederville location as it offers cafe style facilities. The West Leederville store is situated in ...

San Churro Chocolatier in Subiaco

I took my parents on an expedition to the Spanish San Churro Chocolatier in Subiaco last weekend to try their very first Churro. It is not very often I can introduce something totally new to my parents, they tend to stick to the comforts of what they know. The affogato arrives to the table beautifully presented. The shot of espresso in one cup and a scoop of ice cream in the other. ...

Spring Espresso in Subiaco

Spring Espresso has changed a bit since my last blog post. The coffee shop looks completely different and a new set of staff serve just as good coffee as before.   I have always loved the atmosphere at Spring Espresso and it is at its best in the morning on the weekends. It is packed, there are people buzzing around - i love it! The staff seem to handle the crowd okay and our ...

Milkd, Subiaco

Milkd is off the beaten track in Subiaco on Denis Street, a few metres from the shops along Rokeby Road. The cafe is perfectly set up to sit for a while, seating outside and inside. The staff are excellent, so friendly and relaxed - how it should be in a coffee place. Coffee that day was nice and hot. Milkd serve a delicious toasted salami sandwich with mayo, perfect for a breakie ...

The Little Pantry

Off on the scooter again exploring the Subiaco region, we stumbled upon a small strip in Shenton Park on Nicholson Road. Coffee Coffee!!  Our sole reason for stopping and it was fantastic, I might even go a step ...

With his passion and hard work, Koko Black has arrived in Perth town, in the sleek and ultra modern Claremont ...

Choux Cafe, once again

I returned to Choux Cafe for a Saturday afternoon treat(s). Today there were a few new macaron flavours and layered patisserie cakes. I could smell the cookie dough as we passed the kitchen and took our seats under the umbrella out the back. I love this place! Just like Nonna's!   My choice of treats was the avocado and pineapple macaroon and the apricot saffron macaron.Good God! The flavors are strong and complimenting. Coffee was a ...

Macarons and Coffee

A combination worthy of my consumption. Today's choice of coffee break was in the city at Jean Pierre Sancho on Hay Street. The good thing about this place is that it does not close early in the afternoon so it is possible to grab a coffee after 3.00pm! The macaron flavors we selected were passionfruit, Moet Champagne and hazelnut. The macarons were okay, they were fairly chewy and it was difficult to taste the flavors. ...
