Brunch at Deli Chicchi

On a typical sunny day in Perth there is no better way to enjoy it than a long brisk walk ended by brunch at the corner neighbourhood cafe, Deli Chicchi. After the morning rush which occurs every day of the week, the cafe has a relaxing atmosphere where you can pull out the laptop or even a book. You could even grab a magazine from the newsagent next door! We ordered ...

La Mousse Cafe & Patisserie

I treasure a cafe where one can sit down in peace with no real pressure to rush one's coffee, this would be one of the reasons I frequent La Mousse Cafe & Patisserie in the western suburbs of Mount Claremont. We took advantage of the short sunny period and occupied the outside table in the peaceful surroundings of the community centre. The glass cabinet houses a number of handmade macarons, slices ...

Mt Claremont Farmers Markets

The weekend farmers markets around Perth are lively and bustling during winter showcasing West Australian products. The fruit and vegetable produce is at its best and the hot market food is a great way to warm up. The markets are also a place to discover those niche products that are not available in supermarkets. This morning may have been cold but the sun was out and the sky a vivid blue, ...

Domain on Loch

This morning we took my little car to the garage for its major service and luckily for us there was a cafe around the corner for a much needed breakfast and coffee retreat, to distract my thoughts of the car service cost. Domain on Loch sits on a corner street in neighbourhood surroundings, the cafe is housed in a restored character home typical to the Claremont area. I was initially drawn ...

Breakfast at Lawley’s Bakery

Early Saturday mornings are always incredibly hard if not impossible at all,  our guests were checking out of the apartment and this meant we had to 'do the needful' in preparing it for the next guest which was scheduled to arrive later that morning. Before doing 'the needful' we stopped by Lawley's Bakery Cafe in Shenton Park for coffee and breakfast. Breakfast runs from 6:30 am to 1:30 pm every ...

Fortysevenkirwanstreet – 2nd Visit

The day after Perth's Australia Day Sky Show we were a little worse for wear having had a late night and subsequently missing the Sunday morning breakfast run.  It was about 2:00 pm and even though the kitchen at Fortysevenkirwanstreet had just closed, the chef made us feel very special indeed by allowing us to make an order - thank you guys! Our second visit to this western suburbs neighbourhood cafe in ...

Fortysevenkirwanstreet

Joining the Sunday breakfast crowd in Perth, we ventured out to a Floreat cafe called Fortysevenkirwanstreet. Sunday breakfast, I sure have missed you! The cafe  is a short drive from Subiaco and one of those places that unless you are regularly in the area you would never know it existed. The neighbourhood cafe surrounded by residential homes brings life to the small shopping strip. When we pulled up to the cafe  it was absolutely ...

Choux Cafe

Choux Cafe is a cosy and unassuming cafe located on a leafy tree green neighbourhood street in Swanbourne. The French cafe is one of my favourite places in Perth to visit for cake, coffee and croissants. I particularly love that all of the goods are baked in the little kitchen behind the counter using quality ingredients. Croissants made from real butter and not artificial substitutes. Pastisserie cakes made from creme patisserie. Pies, tarts, sausage rolls ...
