Too much to choose from at Little Bird Cafe

Little Bird Café on Lake Street is one of my favourite cafes in Northbridge and not just for the coffee and food. It’s a cafe with ambiance and a quaint courtyard alfresco area where you can enjoy Perth's mostly mellow weather. While I tend to shy away from the weekend brunch hour, Little Bird does open from 8am and it was the prime opportunity to stop by for breakfast before the café ...

Bread in Common; Duck FAT Potatoes in Fremantle

Every so often, Dad and I meet over a cup of coffee. I love taking him to new places and he's always keen to step out of the zone of familiarity and comfort which is great. Today it was Bread in Common, a cafe and bakery on Pakenham Street in Fremantle. Bread in Common, with its cleverly constructed herb and vegetable garden on the front paving brightens up the streetscape. Like an oasis ...

Hudson and Hughie

Sunday morning and in no real rush we stopped by Hudson and Hughie for a couple of takeaway coffees before heading to Bunnings Warehouse. This weekends project - a hanging frame gallery for the bedroom! Brunch at Deli Chicchi

On a typical sunny day in Perth there is no better way to enjoy it than a long brisk walk ended by brunch at the corner neighbourhood cafe, Deli Chicchi. We took advantage of the short sunny period and occupied the outside table in the peaceful surroundings of the community centre. The glass cabinet houses a number of handmade macarons, slices ...

We have shared on this website two of our visits on 17 December 2012 and 15 July 2012. La Mousse Cafe & Patisserie is located in the Mt Claremont Community Centre which ...

Sculptures by the Sea has brought us to Cottesloe Beach this morning and before we wandered through the free open air gallery of art we stopped past our favourite cafe for some breakfast, hello John Street Cafe! The cafe is situated amongst residential homes in Cottesloe, several metres from the Marine Parade strip. This morning was no different to every other morning at the little street side cafe, it was busy with a ...

Fortysevenkirwanstreet – 2nd Visit

The day after Perth's Australia Day Sky Show we were a little worse for wear having had a late night and subsequently missing the Sunday morning breakfast run.  It was about 2:00 pm and even though the kitchen at Fortysevenkirwanstreet had just closed, the chef made us feel very special indeed by allowing us to make an order - thank you guys! Our second visit to this western suburbs neighbourhood cafe in ...
