La Mousse Cafe & Patisserie
I treasure a cafe where one can sit down in peace with no real pressure to rush one’s coffee, this would be one of the reasons I frequent La Mousse Cafe & Patisserie in the western suburbs of Mount Claremont. We took advantage of the short sunny period and occupied the outside table in the peaceful surroundings of the community centre.
The glass cabinet houses a number of handmade macarons, slices and cakes. I love the lemon tarts and salted caramel slices but I had the urge to try something new today and with that in mind I selected the peach almond tart. It was served with a drizzle of raspberry sauce. The sliced peaches were juicy and the butter pastry base was a soft biscuit in texture.
Each time we visit there is always a good variety of macaron flavours, the salted caramel and passionfruit macarons were very soft in the centre, an indication of being freshly made.
The beans used for the coffee are by a West Australian company called Bonissimo, we enjoyed the big mug of coffee.
The complimentary small Pernigotti chocolates were consumed straight after our coffees. They were a nice gesture and we appreciated it very much.
